I have always been a very studious girl, and like to make sure I work hard to achieve my best in everything I do. I received 10 GCSE’s at grades A-C, which was extremely rewarding for me. I am currently studying at a Specialist Science College, and hope to obtain A-B grades in my chosen subjects, which are Biology, Chemistry, Spanish and English language. At present, I am fulfilling the role of House Prefect and am a committed member of the social committee where I organise events for my 6th form. Being quite a powerful minded person, I felt the debate club would be suitable and so I attend every week to discuss current issues and express my opinion to others. For the past two years, I have been a dedicated member of my local theatre and take part in many productions. My greatest achievement from this was my acceptance into Hampshire Youth Theatre last year where we had the task of completing the play ‘The Odyssey’ within 10 days. Rehearsals were intense but it was an amazing experience and have been accepted to take part again this year, following a successful audition.
Talents My talents include stage acting, at which I have had the opportunity to carry out various roles in several different productions. I have enjoyed singing from a very young age and hope to take part in a musical production later this year. I am very proud to have the ability to speak other languages, which include Spanish, Hindi, and most importantly my mother’s home language, Konkani; I am able to understand many other south Indian dialects. For a number of years I learnt Bharata Natyam, a classical south Indian dance, which I thoroughly enjoyed and had the opportunity to perform in public a number of times. At college I like to take part in netball events and enjoy other sports such as badminton and volleyball.
Ambitions I have many ambitions in life and I like to believe that there is never an end to what a person can do. My aim is to accomplish as much as possible and prove to others and to myself that there is no such thing as ‘ I can’t’, as my mother taught me. It’s better to have tried and failed, than never to have tried at all. In the future I hope to go to university and study Chemistry with medicinal science so I can then go on to become a pharmaceutical researcher. I am hoping to use this as a way of working with others to discover new cures. Another great ambition of mine is to raise awareness as to the importance of education in relief of poverty as I believe that education is the foundation of future progress. Winning the Miss England title would give me the opportunity to travel around the country and beyond, so I can then go on to encourage and inspire others to do the same.
