Achievements My greatest achievement to date would have to be being crowned Miss Grimsby & District 2007. Not only am i immensely proud to represent my home town, but to represent Grimsby in the Miss England final is an amazing honour. I have gained 12 GCSEs and 3 AS Levels and i'm currently working towards my A Levels in Media Studies, Performance Studies and English Literture. From a very young age i have experienced dance exams in Tap, Ballet and Modern dance styles. I have been extremely fortunate to achieve successful grades in all of these. I have also been lucky enough to have been chosen to take part for 3 consecutive years in The Global Rock Challenge, a dance and drama scheme aimed at giving children natural highs and a way to help fight the use of alcohol and drugs. Since entering Miss Grimsby & District i was able to raise my profile meaning i could do work for my home town, i was able to participate in a fund raising day at a local super market on St Georges Day, raising money for the local Red Cross Charity.
Talents I have been dancing before i could walk! From the age of 3 i have been attending Tap, Ballet and Modern lessons. Not only have i enjoyed doing these styles of dance but i have also competed in local competitions and festivals. I am also keen on acting and from a young age i have entered such events as speech festivals etc, this grew over time into joining the local theatre company, Stage One. I have been in many plays including Bugsy Malone, The Young Ones, Little Shop of Horrors and Oklahoma. I have also taken part in various summer schools which help young performers experience a working enivornment of show business. I have recently joined a local theatre company, Class Act. This company has an extremely high profile and i will be performing 'Titanic' with them in the summer. I am also a keen singer and have currently graduated to the level of Cats Choir!! But i am working to improve my vocal skills, however other talents i excel in are talking on the phone for hours on end and shopping until most people would drop!
Ambitions My main goal at this moment in time is to do my family and home town proud by representing Grimsby & District in Miss England. I see this as an opportunity to make lot's of new friends and i intend to enjoy every moment of this exciting experience My other short term ambitions are to pass my driving test this year and also pass my A level exams. My long term ambitions are to take a year out and travel the world, i would love to visit America, espcially New York & Hollywood as i am intrigued by their diverse lifestyles. I then intend to go to stage school, or university to study an acting degree. Ultimately my life time ambition would be to be a successful stage or film actress.
